Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall operations of the engine room, including machinery, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure the vessel is fully compliant with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Plan and supervise preventive maintenance schedules for all engineering systems.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, assigning duties and monitoring performance.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, fuel consumption, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with the captain and other senior officers on technical matters and emergency situations.
- Implement safety procedures, including emergency drills, fire control, and pollution prevention.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 Chief Engineer Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of offshore experience on commercial vessels.
- STCW Certification (including Advanced Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Craft, and Medical Care).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in modern marine machinery and maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
