Marine Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall operations of the engine room, including machinery, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure the vessel is fully compliant with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Plan and supervise preventive maintenance schedules for all engineering systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, assigning duties and monitoring performance.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, fuel consumption, and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with the captain and other senior officers on technical matters and emergency situations.
  • Implement safety procedures, including emergency drills, fire control, and pollution prevention.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 Chief Engineer Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of offshore experience on commercial vessels.
  • STCW Certification (including Advanced Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Craft, and Medical Care).
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in modern marine machinery and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
